Tenant Evictions

Illinois eviction’s attorney Mary Brady from Guthrie & Brady has the proven track record in handling all types of eviction cases, with speed and efficiency. She has filed over 100 evictions and understands that although each case has its own unique circumstances, they all move forward quickly once she is retained.

An eviction action is a quick, detailed process. The Illinois Statute requirements must be strictly adhered too; otherwise the Judge may dismiss your case.

To start an eviction you will need the following

  • » A copy of the lease
  • » A copy of the five day notice
  • » An accounting of exactly how much rent is past due

Cook County currently has a filing fee of $237.00 per case if the amount owed is less than $15,000.00. The Sheriff of Cook County charges approximately $60 to serve one tenant and $120 to serve a tenant and the other unknown occupants.

Once we have received the information and the court costs upfront we will open your case by:

  • » Prepare the legal Complaint and Sheriff’s summons for trial
  • » File the eviction with the Court
  • Pay the sheriff to serve the tenant(s) with the complaint and summons

We charge $500 for attorney’s fees plus court filing fees to file your case and represent you in court two times. Any additional court appearances are $l50.00 each court appearance.

I want to get the eviction done as quickly as possible and usually successful in getting a judgment in either one or two court appearances.
